We’re a family-owned and operated business, backed by more than four decades of woodworking experience. At our Heatherbrae timber mill, our team manufacture the pegs to the highest standard. Our attention to detail and quality workmanship is why we’ve had the privilege of selling almost half a million pegs (and counting) over the years.
If you can’t make it to our warehouse, don’t stress! We offer delivery services throughout the Hunter Valley, Central Coast and Great Lakes regions, including Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Cessnock, Port Stephens and Newcastle.
Surveying a residential development? Add our survey pegs to your arsenal of tools. We supply dumpy, indicator and boundary pegs—all of which are easy to drive into the ground.
Need a peg that really packs a punch? Look no further than our steel cap pegs! The steel band increases the strength of these pegs, making them suitable for repeated use.
We stock a wide range of survey supplies, from flagging tape, string line and Dy-mark spray paint to deck spikes, roofing nails and much more.
At The Pegman, we provide the highest quality hardwood landscaping pegs that you can rely on. Made from Australian Hardwood and available in custom dimensions upon request.
The survey pegs that we supply are made out of certified natural Australian hardwood for a durable finish. They also have a white paint finish that makes them easier to see. Some other manufacturers may provide plastic and sometimes metal pegs, but we believe that wood offers a higher quality finish while being more environmentally friendly and cost-effective. We also have steel cap pegs available for when additional strength is needed, using a recessed steel band approximately 10mm from the top.
Steel cap pegs are hardwood pegs that also have a recessed steel band at the top for increased durability. They are longer lasting than hardwood pegs and offer extra support for formwork. This means that they are more commonly used by concreters whereas hardwood pegs are typically used for applications that do not require extra strength, such as landscaping and surveying.
We don’t just stock pegs here at The Pegman. We also stock other essential surveying supplies such as bright flagging tape, Dy-mark spray paint and markers, and Marzuen markers that can be used to distinguish surveying pegs or for a number of other applications. For identifying boundaries for fencing, we also stock string line. We supply a range of nails, spikes and mickey pins too, making us a one-stop shop for all your surveying and landscaping needs!
When in the ground, our hardwood pegs can last for up to 25 years depending on the conditions and their size. Steel cap pegs may be able to last even longer and are more likely to be suitable for repeated use. This is because we use certified natural hardwood that has been sourced from suppliers in the Queensland and NSW area, so it is well suited for the climate and is the highest possible quality, all while remaining far more environmentally friendly than plastic pegs.
We stock a variety of peg sizes suitable for many applications. Visit the page of the type of peg you are looking for to view the range of dimensions we offer. Or, alternatively, we do take requests for custom-cut pegs of dimensions that you require if our standard dimensions do not fit your application. Just get in contact and we will be happy to give you a quote.
We produce a variety of stakes that can be used for propagating, planting and transplanting small plants or saplings. They can be essential for providing the support that a plant needs to thrive, no matter its size or shape. Pot stakes are suitable for greenhouses and nurseries while tomato stakes are specifically for large tomato plants. We also make larger tree support stakes. If the size of stake you need isn’t listed on our site, get in touch to request a custom stake.
Survey pegs, a familiar sight in construction, property development and real estate, are small markers made from a variety of materials, such as wood or metal. They serve an essential role in surveying, which involves measuring and mapping the environment using mathematics, specialised technology and equipment.
In simpler terms, survey pegs act like ‘bookmarks’ on the ground, indicating specific locations and boundaries on a property. They provide a precise reference to where construction should occur or where the land boundaries lie. Their use is fundamental in:
The Pegman stands as a leading provider of survey pegs, with several compelling reasons to make us your first choice:
At The Pegman, we stand behind our product quality. However, given the nature of survey pegs – they are consumable items that are subjected to external conditions which can vary greatly, therefore we do not offer a conventional manufacturer’s warranty. Rest assured, our pegs are designed to last and our track record speaks for itself. If you have any concerns or queries about our products, our team is always ready to assist you.
Survey pegs come in various colours, but the most common colour is white. White survey pegs, such as those provided by The Pegman, offer high visibility, making them easily distinguishable from their surroundings. This visibility is critical in fields, construction sites and other areas where they need to stand out clearly.
Survey pegs’ colours are not arbitrary. They usually follow a coding system that helps differentiate between various types of survey work. While the specifics may vary from place to place, some standard conventions include:
It’s important to note that the above conventions may differ depending on local regulations and practices. Therefore, it’s always best to check with your local surveying authority or a professional surveyor to interpret the colour codes accurately.
