Blending Comfort, Functionality & Aesthetics

Fully Dressed Hardwood Pegs

Picture this–you’re surveying the land at a job site on the Central Coast. While you drive pegs into the ground, sweat begins to bead on your forehead. You feel the sharp twinge of a splinter in your hand. Why put yourself through this ordeal when you can purchase pegs from The Pegman?

Our hardwood pegs have a square tip and are fully dressed, so they’re easy to handle and soft to touch! Choose from indicator pegs to dumpies and boundary pegs. We also offer galvanised clout nails, string line and other survey supplies.

With the addition of a steel band, we can produce pegs that are reusable and strong enough to support concrete formwork. Drop us a line on (02) 4987 2860 to learn more about our product range. We can deliver pegs from Wyong Creek to Gosford, Cheero Point and beyond.

Plant Protection & Structural Support

Landscaping Pegs

Did you know that the council requires landscapers to protect new trees and saplings with tree guards? Well, we supply hardwood stakes, plastic sheeting and ties so you can meet these requirements. That way, you can prevent pests, rodents and strong winds wreaking havoc on your workmanship!

Are you installing a kid’s play area for a business owner? Maybe a raised garden bed for residential clients? Consider our landscaping pegs. They offer extra support to a variety of timber structures.

But you don’t have to be a landscaper to use wooden stakes. We provide stakes to nurseries and gardeners to keep their plants steady and flourishing. Select our pot, tomato or tree support stakes today. Other sizes are available upon request.

Frequently Asked Questions

Surveyors use dumpy pegs, otherwise known as ‘dumpies’, to indicate where tradespeople should install amenities and assets on a job site. This ensures that the position of these amenities is precise and not in the way of or jeopardising existing infrastructure.

When in the ground, our hardwood pegs have class two durability. They can last up to 25 years! Better still, our hardwood is naturally resistant to termites and lyctinae (powderpost beetle). So, you can expect pest-free pegs when you buy from us.

Hardwood is the timber that comes from dicot trees, such as oak, beech and ash – otherwise known as the broadleaf group of trees. It’s a visually attractive and hard material that can be used in furniture and, of course, our pegs and posts. Items made from hardwood are bound to last for years due to their dense structure, which is difficult to break.

Stakes can be used for many purposes – for surveying the land at a job, for putting signs in a vegetable patch or garden, for creating fences for animals, or as poles to put up a large tent for public use. Whatever you need them for, we have a wide range of stakes for you to choose from.

Yes! it’s not uncommon for boundary pegs to move or go missing over time, as they can get lost in grass or soil, or be accidentally removed during earthworks. If land ownership needs to be re-established, then the boundary pegs can be replaced or re-pegged. However, under any other circumstances, it’s a breach of law for someone to remove or reposition boundary pegs.

A typical boundary survey pegging plan will show:

  • Land area
  • Land dimensions
  • Boundary orientation
  • Boundary occupation (e.g. walls, fences & structures)
  • Land parcel details (certificate of title, allotment and survey plan number)
  • Survey marks placed
  • Encroachments, if applicable
  • North point
  • Neighbouring land identifiers

Galvanising refers to the process where a steel object is coated in another type of metal, such as zinc or copper, to reduce damage or wear. A galvanized nail, for example, will be made of steel but wrapped in another metal to reduce the chances of corrosion weakening its structure. Galvanised metals last far longer than ungalvanised ones, particularly when they are exposed to extreme weather conditions.
