The Pegman has been making pegs for decades! We’ve tried a lot of different timbers and techniques. It’s because of this history and our experience that we’re confident of our quality and consistency.

The manager of our timber mill, Darrell Haynes, is a legend in the industry. He’s been working in commercial timber production for over 50 years and, at 76, he’s still working in the business every day, driving the team to deliver the best possible products for Hunter Valley clients.

Are made from quality hardwood that is certified, natural & locally sourced from NSW & Queensland
Feature a square/prism point, making them easy to drive into any type of ground
Are fully dressed—a smooth finish means easy handling, virtually no chance of splinters & easy to write on (they readily accept ink, paint & stain)
Are non-treated—there’s no carcinogens or other yucky chemicals (NB—treated pine pegs are available on request)
Have class two durability in the ground with a life expectancy of up to 25 years
Are naturally resistant to termites & lyctinae (Powderpost Beetle)
Are seasoned & hard rated at one or two out of six with uniform texture
